… or turning point. This piece marks the turning point following the actual ‘watershedding’ of a burst pipe in my studio which, together with a recent retreat in Japan, has lead to a more profound shift in my approach and art practice. The work also marks the watersheds of book evolution through time from scroll to bound pages.
 

A precious calligraphy sketchbook belonging to my father was rescued from a sodden portfolio.

Its pages, carefully dried out and waxed, form the content of this piece. The outer scroll is the last paper in the pad and bears the watery tide marks left by the soaked board back.
